The Flamingo Motel has been around for over five decades (1954), offering interesting furnishings & quality linens that decorate each of our theme rooms. At the time it was built all the best materials were used and it was quite “the place to stay” according to those that remember “way back when”. The Spanish tile roof was unique in the area but has proven it can withstand the winter snows and keep the single story motel very comfortable in the summer. You may never need to turn on the air conditioning but its there just in case. Each room has a name, for instance there is The Victorian, a room very popular with newlyweds and anniversaries. Then several garden theme rooms: the Tuscan, the English and the Cottage Garden, all very cozy & inviting. For the sportsman there’s the Cowboy Room, Gone Fishing, the Lighthouse, a Golfer’s Paradise and the patriotic “red, white & blue” Americana. The Flamingo Motel also has a two bedroom apartment with a full kitchen, “Route 66”, and another two bedroom suite “Cabin Fever”, both for the guest with a family or for two couples. Another of our unique guest amenities is provided by Russ, a fellow from nearby Spokane, who still removes quarters from the Magic Fingers boxes attached to the beds. It was his father, so he says, that partnered with the inventor of the original Magic Fingers, a tiny motor attached to the bed frame that gives welcome vibrations to the mattresses for the road weary guests. Many people think because it’s 50s, it’s just old and not comfortable. That’s definitely not the case at the Flamingo. In 2007 we completed the total renovation of all of our rooms. They are as immaculate and as comfortable as your own home.
